Grants & Funding for Green Home Improvements
Financial support could make your project more affordable
Government grants, local authority schemes and other funding options may help towards the cost of improving your home. What is available depends on your property, location, circumstances and the improvements you are considering.
Heat Pump Grants
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme currently provides £7,500 towards eligible air-source and ground-source heat pumps, with enhanced support of £9,000 for some off-gas-grid households.
Air-to-air heat pumps can currently qualify for £2,500.

Warm Homes Local Grant
Eligible lower-income households in England may receive funded improvements including insulation, solar panels and heat pumps through participating local authorities.
The programme is scheduled to run to March 2028.
​
Energy Supplier Support
Energy-efficiency assistance may also be available through schemes involving energy suppliers, including ECO support for eligible households.
The current ECO4 period has been extended to 31 December 2026.

Green Home Finance
The government's wider Warm Homes Plan includes grants and financing intended to make solar panels, batteries and heat pumps easier for households to fund, although individual products and eligibility can vary as programmes are rolled out.
